Jennvieve Bamberry

Jennvieve Bamberry co-founded Youtheatre alongside her husband, Lee Jay, driven by a shared dream to create original theatre that speaks to youth and society at large. A mother of six, Jennvieve chose to pour her early years into raising her kids — the stage could wait. But as her children grew, something wonderful happened: they found their way onto the stage beside her. To this day they remain her favorite scene partners, and the joy of creating alongside them is something she wouldn't trade for anything.

Jennvieve's credits with Youtheatre include Jazzy in Highway of Tears, Andre in From Now to Then, Addie in Complicit, Francis in Handcuffed, Actor in Christmas Cabaret, and Ro in Shalem's Fair.

With a background in English Literature and some classical and contemporary training, she approaches theatre with both discipline and curiosity. More than anything, Jennvieve loves to develop her characters — taking great joy in exploring who they are intended to be and bringing them to life on stage.

Jennvieve is involved in every aspect of Youtheatre, from administration to grant writing, but it is on stage where she feels most alive.

In recent years, she has had the privilege of sitting with and listening to many Indigenous Elders and community members through documentary filmmaking. The wealth of their heritage stories, songs, and art has been a profound gift — one that has deepened her appreciation for storytelling in all its forms and brought her genuine joy in the craft of documentary work.

Jennvieve has also stepped into the broader film and television industry, expanding her creative reach beyond the stage and continuing to grow as a performer in new and exciting ways.
